Naughty Bus

Posted by Miss Ward | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 06-10-2017

This week we had a mystery visitor who left us a present (a bus and our new topic book- Naughty Bus). We have been reading our story and talking about the pictures and what happens. We did a Spark Your Speech to build our language and got to feel beans like the bus did in the story.

In Maths, we looked at using size language correctly and began to order different size items.

In Phonics, we have been continuing to practise our listening skills. We have also been looking at animal noises and loud and quiet.

During choosing time, children have chosen from activities such as painting with cars and buses, playing with the Naughty Bus, building towers and playing in the texture kitchen .

Next week we will start looking at voice sounds and body percussion in Phonics. We will continue with our new book, The Naughty Bus. In Maths we will be looking at counting out objects from a group and comparing groups of objects.

BLP Learning Heroes

This week our BLP heroes are Neveah (am), for being resilient, and Sam (pm),  for his enthusiasm in school. We can’t wait to here what exciting things you have been up to with Ollie Owl.  Well done! We are very proud of of you.

At home with you Little Owl you can:

* Use language such as more and fewer when comparing groups.

*Talk about what happens in the Naughty Bus story.

*Listen for different sounds, identify them and talk about whether they are loud or quiet. Can they try to make any of the sounds?

Please make notes or add photos into the children’s home learning book as well as anything to share for weekend news and return to school on Monday.

Important Information

*Please bring in a pair of wellies (labelled with your child’s name), as we try to go out in all weather conditions. These can be left in school.

*Please write names in the labels of your children’s cardigans, jumpers, coats, hats and scarves. Thank you.

*Keep up to date on Twitter at @Owls_ MRPA

*Please keep toys at home, (unless it is for show and tell). We don’t want them to be lost or broken. Thank you.

*A donation of £1 a week towards snack would be greatly appreciated. This can be paid via ParentPay (you should have received your ParentPay log in details this week, if you have not received them please ask at the office).

Have a fantastic weekend
