We have had a great first week back and got straight back into our learning. On Monday we started a new book, Funnybones. We had a special delivery with a broken dog skeleton and we had to put it back together to find a clue which lead us to our book.

In Literacy and topic we have been reading our story and joining in with key words and talking about our favourite part. In Spark your Speech, we looked at speech bubble and what the skeletons might say when they were riding the elephant skeleton.

In Maths, we looked at Numicon. We played numicon jump and numicon bingo while trying to recognise our numicon and some numerals.

In Phonics, we have been listening to initial sounds in words. We made silly soup and played sound jump. We found it a bit tricky this week so we are going to continue with this next week.

During choosing time, children have chosen from activities such as tap a numicon, building houses for the skeletons, creating fireworks with chalks and paints and creating potions in our texture kitchen.

Next week we will continue looking at initial sounds and reading Funnybones. We will learn a new song and look at comparing two groups of objects.
